I have been out of town for a few days. I have noticed that my to do list got larger for when I get back. I noticed the things that need to be taken care of can expand if you take a few days off.
I began stressing. Getting anxious. Feeling overwhelmed. Until I read something online that really hit home. The message said something along the lines of:
Don't waste your time being busy. Spend your time doing what’s important.
Wow. Here’s the thing. Everyone is busy. We all have millions of things to do and the same amount of time to do it. I vote we stop pretending that being busy deserves an award. It’s like we are competing to be the busiest. Why? I don’t want to be busy. I want more time to spend with people I love.
Here is my recommendation: spend more time on personal development. Learn to time block. Succeed in your goals. Let go of busy. We don't care how many things are on your list or that you have a million things to do. So stop complaining about it and do something about it.
I’m working on this myself. I have lots of goals and plans to succeed. I have lots of things I’m working towards. But I’m going to start to time block what’s important and make myself less busy.
You should do that too. Besides. We aren’t guaranteed tomorrow. Is it more important to get your to do list done or do what you love and know will be worth it?
