Today, I woke up in a frenzy. Mother Nature decided to throw some terrible monthly cramps my way to awaken me at 2 AM and not allow me to rest any longer. So. I ended up falling asleep again around 5:30 (I’m usually up by 5), and woke up at 7 to start my day. Usually I get upset about these things, throwing off my schedule, but it’s all a learning process. I have to learn to let myself relax a little bit more and allow time to let my body get what it needs.
That being said. I did complete Day 1 total cardio fix from the 21 day fix. I expected it to be slightly easy, because I exercise, but it was difficult. I was surprised at the difficulty level actually. There are 30 second breaks between each round and I was exhausted by round 2. I completed it, sweated like a pig, but felt accomplished! As a Physical Therapist, the exercises were not terrible, but if you do have pain or difficulty with some of them make sure you modify!
I went to the grocery yesterday, spent $98 and got all of the ingredients I will need for the first 7 days. This is a little pricier for me than I typically spend, but still. Health is expensive but cheaper than health problems!
For breakfast, I had a boiled egg (the only dairy product I’m allowing myself to have), gluten free oats (gross actually..I felt like I was eating cardboard), and apples. All with a nice big glass of water. I made sure there was less if not an accurate amount of each to fit into the containers given.
For snacks today, there is a mixture of berries and mixed greens. Lunch has grilled chicken, and dinner is flank steak. I am going to keep everything very lightly seasoned (only pepper actually) and use my portion control containers to make sure I eat an appropriate amount. The containers are very helpful for me actually, because when I snack, I GO HAM.
I honestly don’t believe I will need both snacks to be honest. Breakfast held me over very well, and with greens and chicken I doubt I will be hungry again until dinner time. I am SO excited to see the improvements I will make with this. I cannot wait to see the changes!!
Also, don’t forget to measure before you start, if you decide to do something similar. My measurements are as follows for my starting point, and I will measure again when I’m finished:
Chest: 35 inches
Waist: 30.5 inches
Hips: 41 inches (my hips do not lie)
Thighs: 23.5 inches
Weight: 138 pounds
Here’s to day 1!!!
